Preko is a charming town located on the island of Ugljan, which is part of the Zadar Islands archipelago in Croatia. The island of Ugljan lies in the northwestern part of the Adriatic Sea, separated from the city of Zadar by a narrow strait. It's therefore easy to get to Preko — you can take the ferry that runs regularly between the island and Zadar. Ferries depart from the old town, making them easily accessible. The island has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. There are many restaurants where everyone can find something to their taste. Shops and ATMs are also available. It is not, therefore, as small an island as Lopud, which we often visited in previous years.

Preko has a long history dating back to the Roman era, when this region was known as "Forum Junii". It was once a place of trade and an important port for the surrounding settlements. Traces of this long history can be found in the town's architecture as well as in many interesting sites and monuments.
The town has retained its charm and authentic atmosphere. Extensive olive groves and vineyards add to the landscape's appeal, and local fishermen still keep alive the tradition of fishing and harvesting seafood.
Preko also offers beautiful sandy and pebbly beaches, which attract many tourists during the summer. You can spend a wonderful time here admiring the scenery and enjoying Mediterranean cuisine in one of the local restaurants.
