Elgol - Isle of Skye

A few photos from trips to the Isle of Skye and a small village on the edge of the island- Elgol. We were there twice and experienced two very different kinds of weather, as you can see in the photos. The road to Elgol is incredibly scenic. Of course we plan to go back as soon as we get the chance.

Elgol is a picturesque fishing village located on the southwest coast of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is about 20 kilometres southwest of Broadford, and about 45 kilometres from the island's capital, Portree.

One of Elgol's biggest attractions is the view of the Cuillin mountains. From the village there is an incredible view of these majestic peaks, making it one of the best places on the Isle of Skye for landscape photography enthusiasts.

Elgol also has a pier from which boat trips run around the nearby bay and to Sgùrr na Stri and Loch Coruisk. These trips offer unforgettable experiences with beautiful views of the Cuillin mountains, rocky cliffs and lovely beaches.

Elgol is also a popular destination for tourists who enjoy hiking, with many trails leading into the Cuillin mountains and around the surrounding area. One of the most popular routes in the area is the trail to Loch Coruisk, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains.
