Dornie, Scotland

Dornie is a small village in Scotland, situated on the west coast in the Highlands region, on the Kintail peninsula, beside Loch Long. The village is best known for one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks - Eilean Donan Castle.

Eilean Donan Castle is located on a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge. The castle is one of the most beautiful in Scotland and is an important tourist attraction. It was built in the 12th century but has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. Its current form dates from the 19th century. Inside the castle you can see many exhibits related to Scotland's history, such as weapons, costumes, furniture and many more.

In addition to Eilean Donan Castle, Dornie also offers many other attractions. The area is home to numerous mountains, including the famous Five Sisters of Kintail, which can be climbed via a spectacular route. There are also plenty of walking trails around the village where you can admire Scotland's beautiful landscapes.

Another interesting attraction in Dornie is the Kintail Museum, where you can learn about the history of the Kintail region and the surrounding area. The museum is housed in an old school from the 1920s that has been restored and adapted for museum use.
