The Piasts' Castle of Silesia.
Brzeg Castle, often called the "Silesian Wawel", is a true gem of Renaissance architecture. From the very first moments it enchants with its majestic form and beautiful details. Our guide, with great passion, introduced us to the world of the Silesian Piasts.
Friends invited us on a guided tour of Brzeg Castle. And I have to say one thing — it was worth it. Thanks to that decision, we not only saw more, but above all we heard stories that made the castle's walls come alive.
Brzeg Castle, often called the "Silesian Wawel", is a true gem of Renaissance architecture. Even the sight of its majestic silhouette is impressive, and the deeper you go, the more the details and the atmosphere of the place enchant. The guide spoke with great enthusiasm about the Silesian Piasts, their role in the region's history, and the castle's importance as a center of culture and power.
The whole tour lasted four hours. During that time we visited the representative halls, a museum dedicated to the Piast dynasty, and a charming courtyard. The guide not only relayed dry facts but also shared anecdotes from the everyday lives of the castle's residents.
By the end of the visit our legs were already feeling it — four hours of intensely soaking up history can be tiring. To end the day I recommend a coffee or a local beer at the nearby hotel café. It's the perfect way to rest and digest everything you've just experienced.
Brzeg's Piast Castle is a place you have to see. Especially if you want not just to see something, but to really feel history. A guided tour? Essential. This visit is not just a walk among old walls — it's a journey through time that leaves a mark.
