From the very first step onto the castle grounds you can feel its extraordinary atmosphere. The impressive walls and the castle's majestic silhouette against the mountains make this place a true jewel of the region. The grounds adjacent to the castle are well maintained, and the extensive parks and gardens invite you to stroll and relax.
Książ Castle has a rich and fascinating history dating back to the Middle Ages. For centuries it has witnessed many important historical events, and its walls remember times of both glory and hardship. A visit to the castle is not only a journey through time but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in stories about its former owners and their fates.
The castle's interiors are as impressive as its exterior architecture. Spacious halls, elegant chambers, and richly decorated rooms delight with their attention to detail and care for historical character. The guide told us many interesting facts about each room, which made the tour not only enjoyable but also educational. Personally, I don't like the castle's interiors, as I tend to prefer castles' surroundings — ruins, walls, or other remnants from past times.
One cannot forget the beautiful gardens surrounding the castle. Walking along the paths, you can admire a variety of plants, fountains, and numerous sculptures that add unique charm to the place. The views from the gardens of the surrounding mountains and forests are truly breathtaking.
Książ Castle also offers many attractions for visitors. You can take part in various cultural events, concerts, or exhibitions. For those who enjoy active recreation, there are cycling and hiking trails available that allow you to make the most of the area's charms.
Visiting Książ Castle was an unforgettable experience for me. It's a place that combines rich history, beautiful architecture, and a picturesque setting, making it an ideal spot to spend time for both history lovers and nature enthusiasts. If you're planning a trip to Lower Silesia, I definitely recommend visiting this extraordinary castle — you certainly won't be disappointed!
