Brothers Point

Brothers Point, also known as Rubha nam Brathairean, is a picturesque peninsula on the northeast coast of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is one of the less-visited but extremely charming spots on the island, offering breathtaking views of the sea, the cliffs and the surrounding landscape.

Brothers Point is located in the Trotternish area on the northeastern part of the Isle of Skye. The easiest way to get there is via the main A855 road, which runs along the coast. From the road you can turn towards Staffin or Flodigarry, then follow the signs to the trailhead.

The name "Brothers Point" comes from the Gaelic "Rubha nam Brathairean", which translates as "Point of the Brothers". Legend has it that the name may be linked to local monks or religious brothers who may once have lived in the area. The history of the place is, however, poorly documented, which adds a certain air of mystery.

Brothers Point is an excellent spot for hiking. The trail passes through beautiful scenery, meadows, rocks and cliffs that offer spectacular views of the coastline and the Sea of the Hebrides. Brothers Point abounds with natural diversity. On the peninsula you can encounter numerous bird species, including seabirds such as fulmars, gulls and cormorants. Seals are often seen on the cliffs, and with a bit of luck you might even spot dolphins or whales in the distance.
