Once, They Were Someone's World…
Once, they sailed across the water. They had their own stories, their own adventures, people who cared for them, and places they always returned to. They were part of everyday work, distant journeys, and ordinary moments that perhaps only a handful of people still remember.
Today, they stand forgotten, slowly surrendering to nature what once belonged to it.
Peeling paint, rusted metal, and weathered wood bear the marks of passing time. Where the sounds of engines, conversations, and water breaking against the bow once filled the air, there is now only silence. The wind, the rain, and the changing seasons are the only reminders that time never stands still.
Sometimes, I wonder how many stories are hidden within these abandoned things. How many places they have seen, how many people they have carried, how many moments of joy and hardship they have silently witnessed. After all, no one built them imagining that one day they would be left on a forgotten shore, unwanted and no longer needed.
And yet, there is something extraordinarily beautiful about them. Something that new and flawless things simply cannot possess. Every scratch, every crack, and every layer of rust tells a story that will never be found in a book.
Looking at these old boats, I cannot help but feel that time has not taken away their beauty, but simply given it a different form. They no longer need to sail anywhere or serve anyone. Now, they simply remain, reflected in the still waters, as though quietly remembering their own glory days.
Because even things that have long lost their purpose never lose their stories. And sometimes, it is only then that they begin to tell them most beautifully.
